During her Ph.D., Will changed her major from engineering machines to engineering bacteria (yes, making genetic modifications to bacteria, so they can produce things that they can't before). She has published first-author papers in Cell and Nature Biotechnology. In her spare time, she is a personal trainer and a kayak and scuba diving enthusiast.
